Insomnia has become one of the most common conditions related to lifestyle issues in the world today. Sleep is very necessary to bring the body to normal operation. Without sleep the body will not be able to work efficiently and thus progress will be hampered. An aggravation of vata pitta doshas or cause insomnia. Insomnia is not related to kapha dosha. As an aggravation can be caused by several factors, such as: - A busy lifestyle and hectic, which is plagued with mental problems - Eating a heavy meal just before bedtime - Sleeping in the afternoon (siesta) - Life without much activity lethargic - No weather favors - Physiological reasons, such as menopause in women - Diseases like high blood pressure, heart disease, or kidney and liver. It should be noted that both overwork and less work can cause insomnia. Therefore, in order to get a good sleep is necessary that the word right person depending on their physical fitness and healthy living. (1) Useful Herbs in the treatment of insomnia 1. Anise (Pimpinella anisum) Anise helps to relax the nervous system. Its pleasant taste helps the body to rest. Therefore, tea is prescribed to people with insomnia problems. 2. Celery (Apium graveolens) Like anise, celery also makes the body relax and the nerves to calm down. 3. India Sorrel (Oxalis corniculata) The juice of the leaves of sorrel India has good effects to induce sleep. 4. Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans) Nutmeg is used primarily in the treatment of sleep disorders in children. It is usually taken in combination with other substances such as amalaki and honey. 5. Rauwolfia (Rauwolfia serpentina) Rauwolfia has sedative properties. At the same time, it is stimulating. Therefore, it can be used by children and adults to treat their insomnia. It is much more effective if its powdered root is taken with any other scented substance like cardamom or vanilla. 6. Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) Valerian is almost narcotic in its effects on the human body, but that does not contain any of the dangers of addiction. The use of valerian root can reduce feelings, irritation and pain and induce sleep good. (2) Dietary Treatments for insomnia A healthy diet can help get a good sleep at night. The following guidelines must be obeyed: - 1. For people who constantly suffer from insomnia problems, heavy foods should be avoided. If the person has to have a heavy meal, then it must be taken at least three or four hours before bedtime. A walk after dinner helps digest food and keep a good sleep at night. 2. A glass of buffalo milk before bed is good for sleeping. Butter and ghee are also considered to be sleep inducing. 3. Food as far as possible, spicy and fat should be avoided after dark, especially if the person has a tendency to lose sleep at night. (3) Ayurvedic Treatments for insomnia In most general cases, medication is not necessary to treat insomnia. The Ayurvedic physician first to determine the cause of the sleeplessness and then eliminate it. This is enough to induce sleep. But if insomnia persists, medicines made from brahmi, Vacha and amalaki are prescribed. They come in powder form, either collectively or individually. Various yoga asanas are also prescribed as paschimottasana, shirasana, Sarvangasana, Uttanasana, etc. (4) Home Remedies for Insomnia 1. Drink a glass of celery juice and mix one teaspoon of honey. They have every night before bed. It will ensure a restful night. 2. Grind some fried cumin seeds into a fine powder. Mixed with the pulp of a ripe banana. Consumption induces sleep tonight. 3. Mix the juice of sorrel leaves India with its oil content equality. This is to be stored in a bottle. This massage oil on your scalp every night before bed. To cool the brain down and help get a good sleep. 4. For people who suffer from chronic insomnia is not a therapy known as dhara which can be done at home. Boil about two liters of buffalo milk with 60 grams of amalaki (Emblica officinalis, Indian gooseberry) powder. Milk with rennet. Rotation of this curd by adding water and butter to extract it.
