Trends and job opportunities for engineering freshers and professionals

Every fresh engineer aspires to get into his dream job the moment he comes out of college. Reality can’t be farther away from this. According to statistical reports hardly 7 per cent of the fresh engineering graduates are suitable for core engineering jobs and only 3 % have suitable skills to be employed in software or product market. Fresher’s have only theoretical knowledge and companies expect skills that would benefit them.
The learning methodologies and the lack of quality education in India are some of the major issues plaguing the industry today. The Indian faculty mostly comprises of people who have been left behind by the lacement sectors. Thus it is not the best in the field who come into teaching. This directly has an effect, as the lack of passion for teaching is reflected in the quality of the students.
A good institute must give its students the space and scope to think and innovate, to question and ome up with solutions. It must promote inquisitiveness. Fresher’s need to get more of practical training on the basis of the real world problems. They need to develop an in-depth understanding of technical information, client-handling skills, and knowledge across domains etc. Start-up India and Make in India are constructive efforts taken by the government to boost employment opportunities for engineers. A significant deficiency noted in most fresh engineering graduates is a lack of effectiverncommunication and soft skills. In spite of them playing a pivotal role in the employment industry, it is routinely ignored by educational institutions. Even brilliant candidates get rejected if they are inept at expressing their views. A good training institute must ensure that candidates develop competent skill sets.
The future seems very hopeful for the IT sector as two major segments are on an expansion drive. GICs and FinTech Companies will be the frontiers of IT recruitment in the near future.
