Tricia Parker founded My Credit Guy with the sole purpose of helping clients qualify for mortgage, auto, and other types of financing. Her efforts have led not only to spotlights in such publications as the Women with Vision Magazine but more importantly many happy clients and consumers throughout the country. What’s a career highlight you’re most proud of? For me, I’ve found true joy in creating a culture of growth and respect within my team. My Credit Guy is entirely merit-based in terms of management and promotions. I’m very proud to have created a work environment for my team that anybody would be proud of. How has technology evolved and improved in the mortgage industry over the past decade? For us, the evolution and implementation of a robust CRM and supporting services have made it possible for us to provide an amazing service on a large scale to both borrowers and our amazing referral partners while maintaining the personal touches that we’ve become known for. What is your process for developing new services that can be most useful to the mortgage industry? We keep a finger on the pulse of what’s new and helpful to brokers so that we can consistently find ways that we can integrate our technology with theirs. We also are open to all critiques and criticisms from the community. Being able to look at criticism as a way to create improvement in our user experience has always been a cornerstone of our business. What do you think is the next big step in technology for mortgage professionals? Creating a super robust CRM or continuing to beef up your CRM using all the advantages in technology available to you seems to be a gift that will consistently keep on giving. It allows you to create personal touches but also get time back to focus on other aspects of your business. Who (or what) has shaped your leadership style? René Rodriguez and Khai McBride both coached me pretty shortly after we opened the company and have been instrumental in empowering us to create systems. They both pushed me out of my comfort zone which was key in transitioning from an employee to an owner. More recently, I’ve been working with Christine Beckwith and her amazing team. What is your business philosophy? Always do the right thing no matter the reward or the cost. What are the biggest challenges facing mortgage brokers and what’s your advice for overcoming them? I think the biggest challenge for mortgage brokers is losing clients to big tech companies. My two cents would be to become a loud positive voice in your community. There, you can create platforms to continually educate future homeowners. If you could go back to your first day in the industry, what advice would you give yourself? I would tell myself to enjoy the ride a bit more. I was very laser-focused on setting goals, hitting them, and resetting goals. I would tell myself that it’s a marathon, not a sprint and to enjoy more of the wins along the way. Source URL
