“Triphala - For Rejuvenation and Detoxing”
Triphala is an Ayurvedic herbal formula from India that works well for balancing the body, helps with weight loss, ends constipation, it’s great for digestion, and it’s anti-inflammatory too. Triphala has been used successfully for thousands of years, thus it’s a time proven herbal formula.
In Ayurvedic Medicine there are 3 different doshas or body types and triphala works well for all three body types— be it pitta, vatta, or kapha.
3 Fruits - Triphala powder or tablets are made from 3 different fruits - haritaki, bibhitaki, and amalaki which are very healing.
Balancing Digestion - Triphala is a great way to balance digestion, helping to cleans the system of toxins and create regularity. And this also helps balance the body in general, without regularity every aspect of the body changes and thus the mind and body are both out of balance.
Emotional Balance - Triphala also helps to balance all the emotions of the body. And this is accomplished through the balance of different types of tastes such as sour, sweet, pungent, bitter, and astringent. All of these tastes are important for a balanced body, but in this day and age we tend to eat lots of sweets and that throws the whole body off and causes emotional challenges and also health challenges.
How it Works - With the digestive tract not working as well as it should constipation starts to take place and thus the colon is not responding to pressure being placed on the walls of the intestines. Triphala works as a purgative and a bulk laxative at the same time making it a smooth process of gaining regularity. And some people have constipation because of liver and the gallbladder not functioning correctly because of toxins. And triphala helps to get rid of those toxins and create healthy liver function.
Bibhitaki Fruit - Bibhitaki fruit in this formula helps to get rid of all the old mucus that is built up on the intestines, and thus helps to cleans the digestive tract in general and prevent further buildup of old mucus.
Amalaki Fruit - Amalaki fruit helps with the repair of the intestinal walls so that they become responsive again to pressure. Amalaki contains 20 times the amount of Vitamin C found in oranges making it very healing, and studies show it lowers cholesterol.
Haritaki Fruit - Haritaki fruit helps to restore normal effective contractions of the intestinal tract thus helping to create regularity.
Secondary Attributes of Triphala
Lowers Blood Pressure - As a secondary by product triphala lowers blood pressure thus helping to prevent cardiovascular challenges.
Lowers Cholesterol - Triphala also helps to lower blood cholesterol because it works to cleans the liver. Studies show that amalaki fruit also contains up 24% oleic, 31% linoleic, and 35% palmitic oils which work wonders for lowering cholesterol.
Contains Lots of Nutrients - Triphala is not just a laxative it also contains lots of Vitamin C a powerful antioxidant for nourishing the whole body. Also B Vitamins for good mood and vitality, trace minerals, iron for anemia and fatigue, and other nutrients.
Anti-Inflammatory - Triphala is a good anti-inflammatory for soothing away intestinal spasms, urinary tract inflammation, lung inflammation, and joint pain.
Weight Loss - These three components also help to boost up metabolism thus helping with weight loss.
There is an Old Saying in India - “No Mother - Don’t Worry as Long as We Have Triphala”. Because this wonderful herbal treatment heals and balances the body in many different ways.
Forms - Triphala can be found in tablet form, capsules, tinctures, and as a powder.
Dose - Most people take from 1 to 3 grams of the powder mixed with water daily— 30 minutes before a meal, or 2 - 500 mg capsules or tablets 30 minutes before a meal. And some people take this formula on an ongoing basis for long periods of time.
