Babies cry a lot of the time as we all know. After all, it's the best way they have to communicate with you. But between the wails, you've probably noticed your infant trying out other noises. In fact, your baby will actually make a range of babysounds in her first year-- from the delightful to the downright strange. Babies are very social and making different sounds is their way of connecting with you and telling you what they want and need. Those sometimes-wacky noises are also a sign that your baby is developing the skills required to get ready to talk.

Although we do not understand what these baby sounds actually mean, we can try to get some kind of an understanding from listening to the baby on a regular basis and trying to match the sounds to the moods and behaviours that are being displayed. In fact most parents start to listen to their baby even before it is born with the use of a baby heartbeat monitor. A baby heart monitor is a device which is used by professionals to listen to the baby heart beat and now this can be done at home too.

Electronic fetal heart monitoring is done during pregnancy, labour, and delivery to keep track of the heart rate of your baby and the strength and duration of the contractions. The baby heart rate is a good way to tell whether your baby is doing well or may have some problems. Two types of monitoring-exte
al and internal-can be done.

Exte
al monitoring can be done by listening to your baby heartbeat with a special stethoscope. More often, exte
al monitoring is done using two flat devices (sensors) held in place with elastic belts on your belly. One sensor uses reflected sound waves (ultrasound) to keep track of your baby's heart rate. The other sensor measures the duration of your contractions. The sensors are connected to a machine that records the information. Your baby's heartbeat may be heard as a beeping sound or printed out on a chart. The frequency and duration of your uterine contractions are usually printed out on a chart.Exte
al monitoring is used for a nonstress test, which records your baby's heart rate while your baby is moving and not moving. A nonstress test may be combined with a fetal ultrasound to evaluate the amount of your amniotic fluid.

A baby heartbeat monitor allows you to hear your unbo
baby's heart beat anytime you like, anywhere you wish. Know your baby sounds before birth and form a special bond with her/him. Share the joy of pregnancy and peace of mind of knowing your baby is safe with family and friends. Whether you are facing a high risk pregnancy or just want the reassurance that your baby is happy and safe, you will find comfort in monitoring your baby's heart beat with the convenience of having your own baby heart monitor by your side and the whole family can listen to the heartbeats.
