Wallace Wattles, author of “The Science of Getting Rich” said: “Successful actions are cumulative in their results.” What that says to me is this: whatever your goal, if you desire a specific outcome, you have to take consistent, specific action.
I want to share part of James 2:18-24 from the Message Translation: ‘I can already hear one of you agreeing by saying, "Sounds good. You take care of the faith department, I'll handle the works department. Not so fast. You can no more show me your works apart from your faith tha
I can show you my faith apart from my works. Faith and works, works and faith, fit together hand in glove.
Wasn't our ancestor Abraham "made right with God by works" when he placed his son Isaac on the sacrificial altar? Isn't it obvious that faith and works are yoked partners, that faith expresses itself in works? That the works are "works of faith"? The full meaning of "believe" in the Scripture sentence, "Abraham believed God and was set right with God," includes his action. It's that mesh of believing and acting that got Abraham named "God's friend." Is it not evident that a person is made right with God not by a barren faith but by faith fruitful in works?’
It works in every area of your life as Biblical principles always do! If you want to lose weight you can’t just “believe” that you will and keep eating the same way and never exercise! That’s lunacy. You must take consistent, specific action in order to reach your desired outcome – a slimmer, more fit, healthier body.
Every new day is another opportunity to make progress and move forward toward your goal. While your ultimate goal may be to lose a certain amount of weight and get fit, your daily goal should be to feel satisfied with the efforts you’ve made at the end of the day.
Believe you are losing excess weight with each passing day AND take the specific actions necessary to move you daily toward your goal!
