Two Things That Can Stop You From Getting Back Together With Your Ex

It's the new year and like the saying goes, "out with the old and in with the new". Yes it is time to take stock and see where your life is headed. You can also evaluate areas of your life that you feel need improvement.

But for you that old saying does not apply to everything. Particularly when it comes to relationships. One that you had during the previous year and lost you would love to get back. That's the one you had with your ex.

Things did not work out for whatever reason but in your opinion that was then and this is now. It's time to reconnect and take the relationship with your ex to the next level.

Sounds like a plan but there are a couple of things that could stop you in your tracks if you are not careful.

1. Apprehension

It's all well and good to say you are going to win your ex back but to do so you have to deal with the fear. Fear of what? That they may say no. Rejection is powerful and it has reduced many a person to emotional jelly. It's made even tougher by the fact that your ex already knows you. So in other words the odds are not really in your favor.

But so what? You only live once and there is one thing worse than rejection. That is not trying at all. So deal with the fear and be confident in who you are. Whatever their answer you will be more than ready.

2. Half Measures

This is not always easy to see in the beginning of trying to get your ex back but it can show up and spoil everything when you least expect it.

You want them back so you make a grand strategy to do just that. Congratulations to you if it works. Now comes the hard part and that is not only rebuilding the relationship but making the necessary changes to make sure things stay on course. For more than a few couples they come to realize that this rekindling stuff is harder than they thought.

Every new step gets tougher until halfway across the bridge they give up. The result is a relationship that had previously ended on a sour note is destroyed beyond repair.
