Types of bark collars and how they work

A dog bark collar, also known as a no-bark collar, is one of the most useful dog correction collars that can stop a dog from engaging in excessive barking behavior. A bark collar works by giving an unpleasant stimulus to dogs. This stimulus may be triggered by sound or vibrations in the dog’s vocal cords as it begins to bark, or remotely by the owner using a remote control. Ultrasonic dog correction collars make a very high pitched noise that is undetectable to the human ear but is startling and uncomfortable for a dog. Each of these collars runs on batteries and if the bark collar is effective the dog will quickly learn that barking triggers an unpleasant stimulus. This will in turn stop the unnecessary barking and the dog will eventually not need to wear the dog correction collars at all. A dog barking endlessly because he or she is a breed predisposed to being vocal will definitely benefit from a dog bark collar. The owner may use a remote control device to deter the dog from barking when the owner is at certain distance from the dog. The remote collar can also be used to stop dog’s other bad behaviors as well. Applying a bark collar is useful because the dog will link the punishment to the barking. Note that dog correction collars are available in various sizes and can fit from the smallest dog to the largest breeds. An effective collar should fit snugly but not too tightly. You should be able to slide two fingers under the collar and the prongs should make contact with the dog's throat.
