Davis-Machida at UFC 140? Still not confirmed
If Phil Davis and Lyoto Machida fight, the bout is sure to produce a title contender, but when Dana White announced on twitter that the Ultimate Fighting Championship was setting up the Davis-Machida for UFC 140 in December, he forgot that “Mr. Wonderful” is still recovering from surgery on his knee, in fact, Davis was the most surprised when he heard about White’s comments, as he mentioned that “All of this is news to me. I’m still recovering and training. That’s pretty much the story. I guess the boss must have looked to book me. … I’m just not a go yet.” In despite of this, the UFC hasn’t ruled Davis out yet.
Fairley hasn’t debuted yet
The Lions paid $10 million to Nick Fairley for four years when he was picked as the thirteenth overall pick from the 2011 NFL draft, and the defensive tackle still haven’t debuted since his recovery from a recent foot surgery has been going a bit slow. The Lions are optimistic as they know that Fairley is part of their long-term big picture and don’t want to rush the player to perform before he is fully recovered, though there are some rumors that he will be making his debut on Sunday in a pass-rushing role (limited), but nothing has been confirmed.
Decisive day at the MLB
Today is an important day at the major leagues as the last game of the regular season (also known as game 162) is going to be played, and it is quite decisive for the teams whom are looking to make it to the postseason since nothing is decided yet between Red Sox and Rays, and Braves and Cardinals, and it is quite possible that these teams will have to play one more game tomorrow if nothing is decided today concerning the wild card race.
Bologna team with final offer for Bryant
All-Star shooting guard Kobe Bryant turned down an offer by Virtus Bologna to play the full Italian Basketball season for $6.7 million, and the club at the same time did not found appealing the counter offer from the player to play for $15 million with an out-clause that could allow him to return to the Lakers when necessary, and now the club has made a final offer to Bryant, as they are offering him a nice $2.5 million for a single month (this is close to one million net after taxes), and since the player is on Italy on a promotional tour for Nike, chances are that he will be meeting personally with Claudio Sabatini, the president of the club.
