The ghrelin is needed to inform us when we are hungry so which we may eat when considered necessary. The leptin is needed to inform us when we may have had enough so that we stop eating.
If you do not have the ability to get enough sleep there can be much more of your ghrelin in your body plus a lot less of your leptin. This will likely make you feel hungry the whole the time the next day. You might consider that the body is naturally hungry and thus will still eat what you usually would. This only causes you to gain weight and to over eat. It also might disturb your stomach because your body isn’t telling you when to stop.
