Understanding The Lovers

There are many tools of divination available to those who wish to seek them out, but one of the most iconic and easy to learn is the deck of Tarot. In beginning to understand Tarot, there are four suits: swords, cups, wands and pentacles, as well as Major Arcana, iconic cards that have a whole different series of meanings in the deck and are universally considered the more important part of the deck. In reality, the Lovers card is not only representative of a relationship, but many other aspects of life. True, a relationship can come from this card, but the card idealistically represents the primary or first decision for their lives, and often by the young individual. This signifies the time when one must make the decisions that bring them from a state of youth to a state of maturity. Much like a relationship will bring forth maturity, this card represents the path one will take to becoming an adult.

The Lovers card in a reading represents the notion of duality, which is made obvious by the two lovers that represent two halves of a whole. The masculine and the feminine come together into a sense of union so that one can have a safe balance. When this card appears in a reading, it often represents how one must be part of a relationship, but also be individual and balanced. For these cards, the masculine often represents material or exte
al pursuits in life, and the feminine represents emotion, empathy and being sensitive to others.

When the Lovers card appears in a tarot reading upright, this card is representative of a choice upcoming in one’s life, the kind of choice that either option will result in very different results, so it is important to weigh all the options. This may also be a sign of revelation that can help clear the way for any major issues. This could be a test, a way of developing an individual as well. For relationships, the Lovers card tends to reflect the thoughts of the individual asking questions. If you are single, a new relationship might appear, or there may be a possibility of rivals looking for your affection. The Lovers are a wonderful indication that if in a relationship, there may be some competition, and if single, that this is a perfect time for a relationship.
