Did you know that when you enter your physical lifetime only a fraction of your true spirit or energy self makes up the ‘you’ that you see in the mirror each day? Your larger self (also known as your higher self) is the culmination of ALL of your experiences across time, the thousands of lifetimes, the experiences in spirit, the whole evolution you as part of Source energy itself. Our relationship between our physical ’self’ and our larger spirit ‘wholeness’ determines how we feel while we are focused in this physical body. Here is a visualisation that will give you insight into this relationship and why our emotions are our indicator of being in harmony with our larger self or in discord with it. Visualisation Visualise your physical body floating in space like an astronaut. Notice that there is a silver cord from your abdomen that connects you to a large Mother Ship. This Mother Ship represents your larger self within the whole universe (the infinite space around you) and the astronaut is you in your physical body. This cord is what connects you at all times to the Mother Ship – your whole non-physical energy self. When you are allowing, you are floating comfortably and there is no tension on the cord. It’s quite easy to focus upward and see that massive mother ship, to be reassured that it is there awaiting your return when you’ve finished your adventure. You are able to communicate via that cord with the mother ship and receive guidance when you need it. Imagine now that you are pulling away, trying to move further away from the mother ship. The cord gets tighter and more stretched, with lots of resistance building up the further away you try to move. Your focus is away from the mother ship and as you get caught up in moving away, it’s easy for you to forget the existence of the ship. You feel tension, resistance and uneasiness, even a sense of being lost. Our emotional system is our guidance directly relating to this cord. When we feel negative emotion it is our indicator that we are pulling away from our mother ship or whole self. Negative emotion IS the tension and resistance of us moving away from our true self. As soon as we allow ourselves to stop pulling away, to be at ease, we naturally float back into a harmonious connection where there is no tension on the cord and you can see the mother ship again, even being reminded of its existence and wisdom if you’d totally forgotten it existed. Life is EASIER when you are not fighting against the current or pulling away from your true self and intentions. It’s nice to know that no matter how far away we stretch ourselves, our higher self /mother ship is always constant, patiently waiting for our return and more than willing to offer guidance and wisdom when we ask and listen. Without the listening component you can ask and ask and ask for assistance but you will not hear the answers you are being given. So pay attention to your emotional guidance system and when you feel the tension and discord you know that you need to stop struggling against yourself. Just allow yourself to be still, to be calm, and you will float back into harmony with yourself automatically like a rubber band returning to its natural relaxed state. You don’t need to DO anything. In fact it’s the opposite, just BE. Note: There are a lot of words to describe the higher self, inner being, larger self, spirit self etc and I do use them interchangeably because no words truly touch on the essence of that Divine Source Energy YOU – well perhaps those words come closest!
