UPSC and SSC

Government jobs are highly coveted. They are incomparable to any other private sector jobs, due to the perks they provide. They ensure a luxurious lifestyle and a secure future. However, not everybody can be a part of the government job. Lakhs of candidates apply for the government jobs every year, however only a few are able to get it. This is due to the extreme challenging procedure that precedes the recruitment. This procedure is designed and enacted by the mediums established by the central government. UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) and SSC (staff selection commission) are two such commissions appointed; which conduct recruitments for the respective posts offered. UPSC:
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts exams and interviews for all jobs offered by the Civil Services of India.
Prepares the syllabus, question paper etc for the civil services.
Advises on the suitability of officers for appointment on promotion as well as transfer-on-deputation.
Also advises the government on matters related to recruitment and special cases.
Handles disciplinary cases in different civil services.
Also pays focus to other matters related to grant of extra ordinary pensions, reimbursement of legal expenses etc.
This year, there has been a change in the IAS preliminary syllabus. The earlier optional subjects are replaced by CSAT.
SSC:
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has its branches spread all across India which conduct exams in different various.
SSC conducts exams for recruitment into non-technical posts n various departments of the government.
It also conducts typewriting tests in English and Hindi; periodically.
Every year conducts exams and interviews for a different post.
Designs the syllabus, also prepares the framework for recruitment procedure.

UPSC and SSC are two highly efficient commissions. They have been successfully carrying out their respective functions, since years now.
