UPSC Civil Services Vs State Civil Services Exam

The Indian Civil Services exam is conducted by the UPSC or Union Public Service Commission for recruitment in various Group A and Group B positions in the departments and ministries of the central government. The State level Civil Services exams are considered as another opening for government services in India but these exams are conducted by the Public service Commission of the respective states. Just like the Indian Civil Services exam the state civil service exams are also conducted every year for different state level positions that include Grade 1 position in State Civil Services and State Police Services along with block development officer, assistant collectors and a number of other posts.
