Emla is a pain killer that has a number of uses. Emla cream work by blocking the nerves. It is used before simple outpatient or in-office medical procedures such as circumcisions, tattoo removal, or removal of skin lesions. Relieving pain of normal intact skin and numbing skin to pain from injections and other medical procedures. EMLA Cream is a local anesthetic. It works by blocking nerves from transmitting painful impulses to the brain. This medicine can be used for other medical conditions as prescribed by the doctor.

4) Emla cream should not be used by pregnant and breastfeeding mother as use of this cream may harm the health of unbo

Drug interactio

Before taking Emla cream you should inform your doctor if you are taking this medicine as use of this medicine with other medicines may interact with eachother. dDo not use Emla cream with Antiarrhythmics, beta-blockers, cimetidine, or other medicines containing lidocaine or prilocaine because the risk of side effects or toxic effects, including heart or nerve problems, may be increased. Acetaminophen, acetanilid, aniline dyes, benzocaine, chloroquine, dapsone, naphthalene, nitrates, nitrites, nitrofurantoin, nitroprusside, pamaquine, para-aminosalicylic acid, phenacetin, phenobarbital, phenytoin, primaquine, quinine, or sulfonamides because the risk of side effects, including blood problems, may be increased.

Emla has been suggested it may be used on all skin types, however if you do have sensitive skin and have never used Emla, or a product similar (such as Ametop or Xylocaine), we recommend trying a patch test first. If you severely react in a way not as suggested on the Emla leaflet, avoid using the product. If you know you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients in Emla, then it is advised you do not use this product. If you are applying Emla to the skin's surface, Emla can be used on children as young as 1 year of age under medical supervision or instruction by your doctor, and adults and the elderly. For procedures on the genital region, only adults and the elderly can use this product.
