No matter what your product is, as a business owner, you need to market. For many solopreneurs, especially healers, coaches, and consultants, marketing is the least liked part of the business activities. Part of the problem is thinking of marketing as “sales.” It immediately brings to mind all of the uncomfortable sales experiences you have had when you were the customer. So it feels uncomfortable to be the salesperson too. But it doesn’t have to be that way. I have discovered a small business marketing solution to this problem. There is a way to engage in marketing and be the real you and feel comfortable about it. I call it “fearless marketing.” Fearless Marketing is about being your authentic self and claiming who you are. It’s about putting yourself out there as you are and not making any excuses for who you are. It’s about boldly claiming what you bring to the marketplace and having the confidence that you can make a difference in people’s lives. It’s about replacing that made-up fear of rejection with a commitment to being a success. And it’s delivering your expertise in such a way as to empower and inspire everyone you interact with. Here are 3 tips for using fearless marketing: 1) Share Your Brilliances One way to market yourself fearlessly is to boldly share your brilliances with your potential clients. Many Solopreneurs underplay their unique talents because they don’t want to come off as a bragger. They’re afraid to toot their own horn and so they get lost in the crowd. But part of being authentic is knowing who you are, what unique skills, talents, and abilities you have to offer. Then share that with your potential clients with confidence. 2) Share Your Results So many coaches, consultants, and solopreneurs, are afraid to look too salesy so they don’t make any bold claims as to the results they can get for their clients. But potential clients care most about the results they can get from working with you. The best way to share the results you get is to document the results that your clients get. You can write up case studies and put them on your website. When clients tell you results they have gotten, write them down and always ask for testimonials. Then use this information in your marketing with pride. 3) Know Your Why Another element needed for fearless marketing is to know your WHY. People can get more motivated to work with someone if they can relate to that person’s “why.” You create a tribe of people who are going to be your loyal customers because they believe in you, your mission, your “why.” Once you discover what you WHY is, you can then talk about it in such a way as to magnetically attract your ideal clients right to you. Then boldly state your WHY in all of your marketing materials. You will motivate and inspire your ideal clients to join you in your cause. When you identify your brilliances, your results, and your WHY, you will be inspired, and be better able to language them to your unique tribe.
