The forts of Rajasthan reflect the glory of the kings and warriors and these are the center of attraction for the domestic as well as international tourist. If you analyze the past of this wonderful state, you will feel that multiple personalities ruled this wonderful state and they have left a mark of significance in the areas of bravery, valor and grandeur. All this is reflected in the forts of Rajasthan. Forts in this wonderful state remind of ancient culture and it is the dream of the tourist to see Rajasthan forts and palaces. When it comes to seeing the Rajasthan forts, they are architectural marvels and are built on the tops of the hills. Apart from these hill tops, you have also got forts in the jungles and deserts.
The forts symbolize the identity of Rajasthan India and the fact of the matter remains that Rajasthan will cease to exist without forts and palaces. You have a tale and history associated with each and every fort of Rajasthan.
Chittorgarh Fortr
Chittorgarh fort is the largest fort of India as well as grandest fort of Indian state of Rajasthan. This is a wonderful fort and is a testimony to the bravery of the Rajput rulers when they fought a superior army. The fort is located in the town of Chittor and it is considered to be a wonderful example of the architecture of Rajputs. It was the capital of some kings of Mewar from the 8th to 16th century AD. The legend of Rani Padmini is linked to this fort.
Jaisalmer fort
This is a wonderful fort and is 30 meter over city and there is a vast living area. You can see the big ramparts too. It is a wonderful experience to walk through the narrow lanes of fort. You can approach the fort through hawa pol, Bhoot pol, Suraj pol and Ganesha pol. You can see the wonderful Jain temples and havelis inside the fort and it will really be a splendid experience.
Taragarh fort
The main entrance of the fort is through a road with sharp slope. You will find some of the wonderful elephant carvings on the main gate of the fort. There are three principal entrance gateways to the fort. The names are Phuta Darwaza, Gaudi Phatak, and Laxmi pol. One of the top feature if the fort is the criss cross tunnels. There is a local belief that a vast fortune is in the fort. But attempts to find it till today are vein. This fort was made by Ajay pal Chowhan.
Mehrangarh Fortr
Mehrangarh fort is located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. It’s one of the largest forts of India. The museum in the Mehrangarh fort is one of the well-stocked or arranged museums in Rajasthan.
Junagarh fort
It is wonderful fort and the grandeur and beauty is intact because of some efforts of preservation. It looks new as if it has been built only a few days before. This was built in the year 1588 AD by raja Rai singh, a general whom Emperor Akbar trusted most.
Visiting these forts during vacation in Rajasthan will be an interesting experience.
