Validating Your Self Worth from the Inside Out

How many people do you know, including yourself, who have been waiting for the world to take notice of their gifts and contributions? Waiting for others to see your value and worth, as if that will at last validate who you are? I too have fallen victim of such trap. I remember some time last year, after quitting my job, feeling completely deflated, defeated, and depressed for two straight weeks because I didn’t feel validated or valued for my gifts. Many times I thought of how I should just give it all up and go back to having a “real job.” Then, one day, I finally realized that self-worth or self-value was an inside job. As long as I kept looking for others to recognize my worth and validate my contributions to their life, the more I was imprisoning and holding myself hostage in my own victim cell. I realized how I had been doing that for a very long time in previous jobs I had. I was always waiting for recognition from my superiors that would eventually lead to a better position and better financial compensation. rnHowever, they would never come. I just started using the excuse that I worked with people who weren’t capable of seeing what I brought to the table. But then, when I realized that I had been doing that in my own business, I knew the problem wasn’t out there, but in here. What if acknowledging your worth from inside out was the game changer that would bring you exactly what you desired? After two weeks of being depressed, I knew I had to do something. I had been buying into a major lie – that I was not worthy. I knew that I had to DECLARE who I truly AM. I also had a circle of friends who knew and acknowledged my worth when I couldn’t do it for myself. This circle would hold the space for me to show up however I was showing up. They would love me when I thought I couldn’t love myself. They would ask me questions that would make me have to dig deep into my soul. They would channel Spirit’s wisdom and light when all I could do was buy into the lies about my smallness and could only see the darkness. And that gave me the strength to go deep within and do the ultimate heart act – LOVE and VALUE MYSELF. This experience helped me see the value of my own life, and also to recognize how many others out there are experiencing the same pain and darkness I had experienced. I became more determined to become a beacon of light for those people. I knew that I had not gone through this experience in vein. The creative reservoir of my life suddenly began flowing and I became my heart’s best student and best friend. I knew I wanted to provide the space for others to really go deep in their hearts to find the treasures that have been deeply hidden within. And because I had gone through the experience myself and had come out the other side with so much richness, I knew I was qualified to be their guide. My work has been about empowering the heart to take charge. When the heart is empowered, your life becomes balanced. You gain clarity to see which obstacles have been blinding you to your potential. You begin to experience intimacy with yourself and others in ways you never thought possible.
