The value of games and sports can be realized from the fact that if you will keep yourself busy in work you will become dull and boring. Since times immemorial the exhibition of physical strength and skill has been very popular. In stable societies great attachment was involved to physical culture. The one who is considered ideal is; who has good physical health along with intellectual traits. Olympic Games served as refreshment to the society in general. Similarly, in the whole world, the display of physical efficiency is common.rnAs time passed, people introduced new styles and techniques of playing sports. Old rules were modified. New set of laws were introduced and standardized all over the world because the world was changing into a global village. Among these physical activities and sports, a famous sport came into being, which is now known as “Basketball”. Basketball was introduced by a physical education teacher whose name is James Naismith. In 1891, he invented basketball as an indoor sport. At first this game was played with the help of soccer ball and peach baskets. In 1892, the first official set of rules was defined for live basketball. As time passed, the game was modified again and again and then the modern day basketball was established with standard dimensions of court, rules and regulations. Now it is played all over the world, at all levels. It is also a part of Olympic Games.rnAs basketball is such a charming game that peoples from all regions of the world plays this game, then there must be something players will be getting from! In sports people become your inspiration and as you improve your game to high rankings, you become inspiration of others. • Balance and Co-ordination As basketball requires quick moves and decisions during game time, we can learn how to play a balanced game and how to co-ordinate with other members even in worst conditions by handling pressure and fear of loosening the game. Co-ordination is not important with other, but also with your own body parts. Your hands and foot movement, your eyes, your decision making, etc. These are just few; if you are a live basketball player you can feel a great difference in your personality than a common working man.
