Very Nice Hands

As I read for over 95% women, I can only tell you about what women seemrnto think about their hands. If you are a male, you may not realize how many women are not satisfied with their hands. It’s a matter of them not being ‘beautiful’ or ‘attractive’, in their words. That struck me as odd, when I began reading hands. I’d not known that sornmany women worry so much about having ‘beautiful’ hands. Noses, eyes, hair,rnbreasts, waistlines, butts, legs – even feet – yes, I’ve heard about those. But notrnhands. I hadn’t realized how important this issue is. In the last few sentences of a reading for a Mrs. Average Middle Class womanrn(average manicure, jeans and blouse, fortyish), I said after a final glance at the front and back of both of her hands, “You have very… nice… hands. Very attractive hands…” I don’t why I said it. It was only moderately true. It just seemed right at the time. She smiled, thanked me and left. A middle-of-the-road reading, from my view. She had never had a palm reading and seemed to have found the experience interesting and positive. As she walked away, she called out to her waiting friend, “He said I had attractive hands!” I found it curious that of the dozens of things that I’d said to her, this was the very first thing that she chose to report to her friend. Later in the day, as I threaded my way through the lobby crowd to the men’s room, I heard a woman's voice: “ … and he also told me I had very attractive hands!” It was her again, but I got by without being seen. I thought about this and it taught me something: Compliment them on their hands! After possibly telling them that they have warm, soothing hands during the reading, you end with touching their hands with both of yours (almost like psychometry), saying, “… and you have such nice feeling hands, too. As you can imagine, I touch a lot of hands. They aren’t all positive. Some are odd; hard, leathery and unfriendly or like a statue’s hands, but yours are nice hands. Attractive. Maybe you could get work as one of those women who holds the soap bottles on the TV commercials!” Yeah, it’s flattery. I am, after all, telling her that she is a nice person, a good person – attractive! Her hands are her, after all. If she has spent a bundle on hand lotion, sculpted nails and designer colors, you know her hands are important to her. If you don’t tell her that her hands and nails look good, you’re a fool, as she expects tornhear it – certainly from an expert! If they are well-cared for hands, clean, trimmed, with just some clear polish, Irnpronounce them as attractive, of course. I also may call them honest, common sense, or sometimes, intelligent hands. Of course, this is an oblique way of describing her. Depending on the tone of the reading, they might be sensitive hands: “… almost like radio antennas or radar…” For that fashion model’s hands, where she spends $35 a week to have them done, I’ve said, “Have you ever seen those hand studies done by Michelangelo? Or the classical sculptures? They always have your hands; thin palm with very long, graceful fingers. It’s the traditional ‘beautiful hand’. Maybe you could get work holding plastic bottles of soap on television!” Certainly you are looking at the total client when they sit down, so you’ll knowrnwhat approach to take.
