There is an increase in the application of video conferencing solutions in the corporate sector of Hong Kong, with emphasis being on Investor Relation meetings. With vendors providing a wide range of solutions, top level executives of companies relying on video conferencing for corporate communication have numerous options. Most organisations can opt for features that can deliver high quality standard definition, high definition and Telepresence solutions over the Internet and Intranet. The CXOs of all industry leading organisations prefer video conferencing solutions that operate on the latest technologies for reduced resource consumption. Solutions that run on the most advanced algorithms for compressing audio and video will require lesser bandwidth to transfer data packets over MPLS, broadband and public networks. Owing to low bandwidth requirements, mobile users who rely on data cards and network carrier connections can use the ir laptops, Smartphones and tablet computers for conferencing. Organizations also see cost reduction in video conferencing data transfer due to the low bandwidth requirement. According to market surveys, CXOs prefer online video conferencing consoles that are easy to install and can be deployed across various offices instead of a single location. Remote IT support and Multilanguage support are prerequisites for the state-of-the-art communication platforms used in Hong Kong. Scalability and flexibility are other preferences of top level executives looking to install online video conferencing. They are also more inclined to opt for solutions that can be used to broadcast messages at multiple locations simultaneously. Video conferencing solutionsthat can connect professionals located anywhere are heavily demanded by users. Using such communication platforms, moderators can interact with associates located in boardrooms, office cubicles, homes, hotels or cars instantaneously. Moreover, video conferencing platforms that enable moderators to connect phone-based users with the meeting are preferred in the corporate sector. This is because a simple telecommunication line will allow users to enjoy conference calls, thus lowering communication costs. Security and control are important for CXOs hosting Investor Relation Meetings in Hong Kong. They prefer video conference solutions that run on the highest security protocols to maintain confidentiality of the meeting. They also prefer solutions that provide “locked” option, allowing only invited participants to join the meetings. Participants without legitimate passwords will not be able to access ‘locked’meetings. Some video conferencing features that are favoured by Hong Kong-based CXOs include translator, secret ballots and polls. Conferencing solutions that allow users to share desktops, applications, documents and video files in real time are also highly favoured. Add-ons like recording, scrolling text and whiteboard applications like digital pointers, hand raising tools and annotations are also demanded in such conferences. They prefer solutions which are customizable and like the flexibility of choosing only features they need to use. Thus, executives need to only pay for features that can be used within their organisation, rather than a plethora of additional features that serve no purposes for them.
