The virtual partitioning of a single computer was initially done on the mainframe and mid range computers, but the technological advancement has made it available at comparatively lower price in. As a matter of all the hosting companies in their packages include the virtual private server as one of the most important services.
With the emergence of different types of private servers, including the MS private server and a Windows virtual private server, many types of virtual private server packages came up in the market.
Any MS private server or the VPS private server for Linux is privatized packages which are mainly for the users and guests who are aware of the hosting server, but have the capability to work individually as a different entity. The Windows server is more virtualized. This means it uses even higher resource to interpret the users’ requests to the correct format compatible to the server. This is a drawback in the Windows server and hence the functionality is lower than the MS private server or the Linux or Unix servers. But the Windows can be handled even be by a person who do not have any knowledge on these because it has a lower learning curve. Additionally, the environment in the other servers is not that user friendly as in Windows.
The virtual private server can be both managed and unmanaged. The managed hosting server is a contract service where the server owner looks after all the maintenance. This is the best solution for a business that does not have a separate IT department, or company whose hosting services are far away from the business. While on the other hand the maintenance in the unmanaged solution is done according to the users’ preferences. Since this server is rented by the guests and is available at lower cost, it is the common solution for most of the business.
The VPS is an outstanding technological invention because it offers the services at low cost for the small and medium size business. It is such a hosting solution that allows growth to the business. The solution is one of the most renowned hosting solutions that offer the resources to be allocated to the websites and individual at only a fraction of the price of the dedicated server. For an example, the Windows virtual private server costs a quarter of the physical non virtual private server would cost for a year. Therefore it is always better to take up the virtual private server for your business, irrespective of big or small size.
