Green tea extract is derivative from the plant Camellia senensis which produces high green leaves which are used in tea making. This tea has extensive been used in China to showcase health and well-being. Green tea extract contains compounds called catechins which are believed to make use of a variety of health benefits. The de-oxidizing capacity of green tea comes from the high matter of polyphenols. Polyphenols something like epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), epicatechin (EC), epigallocatechin (EGC), epicatechin gallate (ECG), are one of the most popular and largely studied.
Polyphenols are commonly within plants and in chemistry they are indicated by existence of more than one "phenol group." The polyphenols include several admired health promoting compounds along the lines of tannins, lignins, and flavonoids.
