Jaipur in Rajasthan is a beautiful destination for tourists who wish to see the rich cultural heritage of India. The beauty lies in its ornate houses and old palaces that dates backs to two centuries ago. With the opulence and heritage, Jaipur is surely going to leave you fascinated.

The City Palace

A major landmark in Jaipur, the City Palace forms a popular tourist attraction of the city. Built by Maharaja Sawai Singh, this magnificent palace stands apart with its exceptional architecture. The complex of the city palace covers a huge area, divided into gardens, buildings and courtyards. The palace is an imposing amalgamation of Rajasthani and Mughal styles of architecture.

Nahargarh Fort

Standing atop of rugged point of the Aravalis, this huge fort refers to the 'Abode of Tigers'. Offering a panoramic view of the city, Nahargarh fort was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Originally built in 1734, it was later on modified by the succeeding rulers in 19th century. Nestled in the Nahargarh hills, the fort houses different beautiful buildings. It offers some spectacular views of the Man Sagar Lake as well as the city below.

Amber Fort

This stunning fort in Jaipur is built in white marble and red sandstone. From its outer side, the fort looks rough and craggy but the interior of the fort offers a soothing ambiance. The crystal mirror image of the fort, reflecting on the still waters of the lake, creates an amazing illusion.

Govind Devji Temple

Devoted to Lord Krishna, this is a beautiful temple in the pink city. It lies inside the premises of the complex of city palace. Built by Sawai Jai Singh, this temple is a popular attraction for devotees as well as tourists from all over the world. Every year, many worshippers come here to take the blessings of Govind Dev, an inca
ation of Lord Krishna.

Jaipur has a number of accommodation options. There are hotels, ranging from five star, delux to budget. Heritage hotels are also available that are converted into hotels from the royal palaces and havelis of Jaipur. These hotels provide all the modern facilities to visitors in Jaipur.

Reaching There

Sanganer Airport in Jaipur is the nearest one. There are domestic flights that connect the city to Delhi, Mumbai, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Kolkata and Ahmedabad. There is only one international flight to Dubai.

Regular express, superfast rail service links Jaipur to major cities of India like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Agra, Varanasi and Ahmedabad. There is a daily (excluding Wednesday) Shatabdi service to Jaipur from Delhi.

Regular bus service of AC as well as Deluxe Coaches are available to reach Jaipur.
