The rampant use of land for building houses and expanding cities has a despicable effect on the ecosystem and the balance on which the world rests, is being tampered with because of the recklessness of man. Animals are getting extinct at a steady rate and trees and plants are also getting affected. These days the best place where you can get to see some birds and animals is either Discovery channel or Animal Planet. If you want to get a closer view then you have the option of visiting the local zoo. The biggest disappointment about visiting a zoo is that the animals of the zoo are incarcerated and in most zoos the enclosures are quite small. Of course you have the option of going for a jungle safari to Africa or the USA, but why would you do that when you can go to Nepal and be a part of a jungle safari at not even half the rate at what it would cost you to go to either of the afore mentioned countries. If you are hesitating because you feel that you would not be able to see many animals then you are absolutely wrong. The Sagarmatha National Park that is present in the eastern part of Nepal and has the southern half of the Himalayan range is one of the most beautiful national parks in the world. The Sagarmatha National park is spread over an area of 1148 sq. kms. The parks has a variety of rivers and glaciers flowing through it and the presence of the Himalayan range in the horizon gives an ultimate touch to the beauty of the place. There are many forest trees such as alpine, spruce, evergreen etc. Since the national park is situated at an altitude that is approximately 10,000 ft above the sea level, the number of trees goes on decreasing as you move higher up. There are a wide variety of animal that can be spotted here and the main attractions are the musk deer, red panda, snow leopard etc. Besides this, the national park is home to approximately 120 species of birds which includes the blood pheasant and the yellow billed chough. The national park in fact houses the highest point on the surface of the Earth that is the Mt. Everest. Which is well known trekking destination in the world. If you wish to visit this national park then you need to book your ticket from the UK to Kathmandu. Once at Kathmandu you can take a flight to Lukla after which you would need to hike for two days to reach the park. There are other ways to get there too, but this is the simplest route as all the other jou eys entail a 10 day hike. So, this holiday pack your bags, head to Nepal and pay a visit to the Sagarmatha National Park. I’m sure that your visit to this national park would be full of excitement and you would thoroughly enjoy the experience.
