Osteoporosis affects 10 million of us with more people developing it every year.
Why worry about our bones and how strong they are? Because as our bones thin and become weak we have a much higher chance of bone fractures.
Hip fractures, spine fractures, wrist and rib fractures. All of these happen more often when we have osteoporosis.
When you think of osteoporosis what comes to mind? An elderly person walking hunched over? Most people I ask think osteoporosis is a disease of the elderly.
I have noticed a trend in my 19 years in practice. I am seeing younger and younger people with thinning of their bones to where I am now seeing people in their early 40’s looking for natural ways to keep their bones strong and healthy.
Why do our bones thin? There are several reasons: family history – do you see osteoporosis running in your family? Lack of exercise – exercise put stress on our bones stimulating them to build more bone which keeps them stronger. Your lifestyle – do you smoke? Bone thinning is one of the wonderful benefits of smoking.
Maybe you have heard that you just need to take more calcium in order to build your bones. You need to know that just taking calcium alone will not increase your bone density! There is much more to it than that.
There are 6 different factors affecting the health of your bones and all of these 6 factors must be addressed for your body to have any chance of strengthening its bones and preventing hip or spine fractures.
Did you know that your bones are alive?
There are cells that break down bone and there are cells that create new bone. How strong your bones are depends on whether your body has all the nutrients, all the raw ingredients it needs to build strong healthy bones.
This is why it is so important that we get all the right nutrients into our bodies, that we address the six factors that go into supporting our bone so that our bones have the best chance of staying strong year after year. We need to get the right minerals, the right essential fats, we need all the nutrients, all the building blocks so that our little bone building cells, the osteoblasts can do their job and build strong bones.
In the Healthy Bones video I go over the 6 factors you must address in order to protect the strength of your bones. These are all the things I use in practice every day to help my patients.
Watch the video and learn what you need to keep your bones strong.
Thank you,
