Bar-i intelligent inventory reports that using voice command technology with their speed count liquor inventory system halves the time taken to take physical inventory at bars and restaurants.

Colorado based provider of liquor inventory services to bars and restaurants says new clients are reporting that the integration of voice command technology into their speed count liquor inventory control system is helping to cut the time taken to take physical inventory in half. The results are based on comparing the time taken to record inventory levels with a clipboard and enter that data into excel versus using bar-i's liquor inventory system with the voice command option.

Bar-i intelligent inventory has been providing liquor inventory services to bars and restaurants in Colorado since 2009. Since 2011, new clients have had the option of paying an extra $200 for an add-on which allows inventory levels to be spoken verbally, using a special headset, which are then automatically recorded into the software. The integration of bar-i's counting functions with the reporting side means that users no longer have to perform two separate steps of counting liquor inventory levels and then entering that information into a software program so that results can be aggregated.

Counting liquor inventory is a boring and time-consuming task which most bars now perform on a weekly basis. Managers are required to accurately count the entire inventory stock so that financial metrics such as liquor cost and total inventory value can be calculated.

Owner of Bar-i intelligent inventory Jamie Edwards believes the product they sell has to ability to save bars hours in valuable management time each week. "Counting inventory typically takes anywhere from half an hour to a couple of hours, depending on the size of a bar. This is usually followed more time entering that data into excel. By providing our clients with voice command software, they are able to half the time they spend on inventory each week and eliminate the task of manual data entry. The voice command technology is simply used to record counts, rather than to indentify products, and users perform various error checks to ensure accuracy. The use of our software with voice command technology is a powerful combination which helps our clients realize significant time savings. We are pleased to offer our clients a superior user experience and will continue to find ways to use the latest technology to assist our clients. These developments are in addition to other benefits of our liquor inventory system such as improved liquor inventory controls, significant reductions in liquor costs and assistance with weekly ordering."
