Wallace Wattles, (1860-1911) author of The Science of Getting Rich was originally living a life of failure, defeat and poverty. He credits his studies with the change in his life. The theory he espouses, now known as New Thought, was founded in the Hindu monistic theory of the Universe, that the One is all, and all is the One. The One being the substance he speaks about that manifests itself as the many elements of the material world. This theory also influenced Hegel and Emerson who was prominently featured in the movie, The Secret. Wallace D. Wattles also wrote The Science of Being Well; a novel, Hellfire Harrison; The Science of Being Great, a mail-order course expanding on the principles of his three "Science" books; and many, many magazine articles. His daughter Florence explains that at the end of his life,
"he wrote almost constantly. It was then that he formed his mental picture. He saw himself as a successful writer, a personality of power, an advancing man, and he began to work toward the realization of this vision. He lived every page... His life was truly the powerful life."
His work was forgotten for years, but those who have studied and applied these principles have experienced remarkable results. They have gotten rich! For a complete discussion of his best known book The Science of Getting Rich illustrated with videos by Gregg Braden, contemporary scientific experiments, that illustrate Wallace's assertions and beliefs, go to http://www.mindbridge-loa.com/wallace-wattles.html
There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made and which, in it original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe. A thought in this substance, produces the thing that is imaged by the thought. Man can form things in his thought, and, by impressing his thought upon the formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created.
He cautions us to be creators, not cheaters or thieves. And, we must never read anything nor talk with anyone who would cast any doubt on our beliefs. It was this doubt that cast Adam and Eve from the Garden of Paradise. God, Wallace reminds us, originally wanted them to be perfectly happy in a lush and beautiful environment. Doubt is the mortal sin of The Science of Getting Rich When the wealth we believe in takes time coming, it is sometimes difficult to hang on to our belief. Wattles explains this. "Look always at the limitless riches in Formless Substance, and KNOW that they are coming to you as fast as you can receive and use them." This is the crux. They are coming as fast as we can receive them. Feel the gratitude of the accepted manifestation even before it is evident. This is the trick that will push it into substance.
