Do people still go after warm market in network marketing? You know, make a list of your friends, family, neighbors, cousins, co-workers, dogs and cats and start talking to them, type strategy? This was a surprise to me, because I had assumed that everybody moved on to internet marketing these days. In fact, the only reason I joined my current system is because they teach me how to market online, almost exclusively, and effectively. I know it is possible to become a top earner using warm market, but I didn't, and I know many of us don't. Surely enough, the MLM legend Mark Yarnell says friends and family are the first bomb people step on in network marketing. The first bomb, mind you. Your Friends and Family are Not a Market to be Exploited Your friends and family love you and they'll be there for you when you need them, but they are not your market for you to take advantage of. They don't want to hear your pitch. You are not pitching, you are just trying to help them, you say? My old up line told me the same thing. They said that people who are closest to me are my "hot market" where I have my biggest influence over, that I can get them to follow me. That I'd be doing them a favor because I'd be helping them. I approached some, because I was told it was the best way to build my business, even though it didn't seem right. The truth is, friends or not, you cannot make someone do something they don't want to. Your Friends and Family are Not the Right Market Sure, if your friends are interested in joining your business, by all means bring them along. But a lot of times this will not be the case and you'll soon run out of people you know. Your friends and family may even think you are crazy for getting involved in network marketing. This is because your business is not right for them. Just because you know someone doesn't make them your best recruit for your opportunity. You are not losing your friends over this, are you? If Not Warm Market, Then Who? My old company had little to help me with building my business without my warm market. It pretty much left me making a lot of cold calls. It's safe to say they didn't really teach me how to market effectively. Needless to say, I did not have a lot of success with this company. Target Market So what is the right market? The right market is the people who are right for your product and your opportunity. Think about who would be interested in joining your business and where you can find them, and that's your target market. Then you'll need a good strategy to expose yourself in that market. Choosing the Right Company I want to briefly talk about the company you choose to work with. Do you believe in their products? What about their values and philosophy? Do you like their leaders and would you follow their strategies? Are they being pushy, and is that the style of sales you want to be adopting for yourself? To be successful on a long term, it is best to find a company that best suits your own values, beliefs and style. To learn more about how to find the right MLM opportunity, continue reading below.

The Evolution of the Doorstep Handshake In the early days of the renewable energy boom, the transition to solar power was often viewed as a purely transactional event.
