“You can start with nothing, and out of nothing and out of no way, a way will be made.” – Michael Beckwith This is an inspiring experience from my client, Aimee, which reads like a how-to manual for getting what you want. As you read Aimee’s experience, notice how she focuses on her desire with clarity and determination. Observe how she keeps her eyes on the prize and refuses to take no for an answer, never considers accepting less than she desires, and politely refuses to let other people discourage her from following her heart. Here’s Aimee: “Even before I entered grad school, I knew it wasn’t right for me. But I did what I thought I SHOULD do, and went anyway. What I really wanted was to be a professional nanny. The summer before I graduated with a Masters in Education, THREE separate people gave me the same newspaper article about nannies and how they can make as much as $100,000 in big cities like New York. I had fallen in love with New York on an 8th grade class trip and always dreamed of living there some day. At this point, I was completely burned out on grad school and I decided that, as soon as I graduated, I would move to NYC and become a high end nanny! And everyone thought I was nuts. “But, Aimee, don’t you want to teach?” they demanded. And I gave them answers they wanted to hear, “Oh, I just need a break; I’m sure I’ll find a teaching job in NY; I’m going to make some money to pay off my loans, etc.” But I had no intention of teaching. My intention was clear: I would be a professional nanny. I created a website with my previous nanny experience (live-in nanny for the last five years, live-out for six years before that), qualifications, testimonials, etc., and I saw new jobs like this one popping up every day: “High profile family seeking Mary Poppins” all with annual salaries of $60k, $70k, $80k, $90k, $100k. Some jobs provided health insurance, others your own apartment, and there were new posts every day, all looking for me! I set my intention for a loving family that will treat me like family, health insurance, two weeks paid vacation, and $68,000 a year. I also decided I would find a cute apartment in NYC with trustworthy roommates and only pay $600 a month. “Ha!” Everyone said, “You’ll NEVER find a place in NY for that amount!” “Watch me. . . I’ll figure it out,” I said. Those six words became my mantra. I was nervous moving to NYC, on my own, with barely any money, but I kept repeating my mantra, “I’ll figure it out, I’ll figure it out; watch me.” And I did. I posted my ad on a site called That’s My Nanny and not two days later, a woman in Harlem contacted me, looking for a temporary, live-in nanny, as she was having knee surgery. Even though it wasn’t a permanent position, she convinced me it would be a good starting point to leap from, as she could provide a nice salary, a beautiful home, and four months to look for my permanent gig and an apartment. A few phone interviews, and I was hired! This was in the fall of 2008 and, due to the economic climate, ads for high end nannies went from 15 new posts a day, to 5 new posts a week. Still, I was ELATED. Every single day I was high on adrenaline and sheer joy that I was living in NYC. And I was absolutely DETERMINED to find EXACTLY what I wanted! Next, I interviewed at a nanny agency called The Right Staff, and told them exactly what I wanted: $68,000 a year, health insurance, two weeks paid vacation, all wrapped up with a wonderful, genuine, sweet, caring family. They responded that, due to the economy, I could only expect $40k tops. But did I accept that as an answer? Nope. “Oh. Well, that’s what I want to make, so I'm sure we’ll find it, no worries!” She looked at me with a wry smile, and tried to convince me that I wouldn’t, but I never took no for an answer. After two weeks of rejecting their $40k offers, they called me – with the right salary. “Aimee, this woman is our absolute favorite client. She is THE nicest person that we’ve dealt with, and we know you will love her and her family. She’s willing to pay you the salary, with health benefits, and two weeks paid vacation, and there is also another nanny that's been there for four years already, so you'll be working together to care for their three boys.” That’s when I knew I’d found my family! Now to find the apartment! It couldn’t have been more than a day of looking that I found a cute, three bedroom apartment with an eat-in kitchen. I did it! I landed my $600 a month NY apartment, with two incredibly sweet and trustworthy roommates.“It’s a very funny thing about life. If you refuse to accept anything but the best, you very often get it.” – W. Somerset Maugham I nannied for two years with my NY family and I loved EVERY single day of it. There wasn't a single day I didn't want to go to work. They became like family to me, and me to them, and the other nanny and her husband are two of my best friends today. I’m still amazed by my power to attract exactly what I want -- especially when I look at my tax statements from those two years and see the amount I made typed on the W2 form: 68,000.00. Exactly!” Bravo, Aimee! When the feeling of having what you want is so real you can taste it – and you refuse to accept less than you desire – you broadcast a powerful vibration and the Law of Attraction has no choice but to match it. With focus, clarity, and determination about what you want, the Law of Attraction matches your vibration and the invisible desire becomes the visible manifestation. Thanks, Aimee, for inspiring us all!
