Whether you want to rid yourself of excess fat that has been stubborn or hard to get rid of, or you wish to reshape your body in a way that exercise isn’t allowing, laser liposuction may be the solution. Using Fort Lauderdale liposuction procedures to restore the tone and shape of your body can help you rid yourself of hanging skin and flesh that tends to be hard to do anything with after you have lost a significant amount of weight.

Typically, people who come in for Fort Lauderdale liposuction do so in order to have a body lift, arm or thigh lift, or a breast lift (or a combination of these). Restoring the natural shape of the body can have an immediate impact on your appearance, and the procedure using laser technology does not take very long. In most cases, the patient is anesthetized locally and is awake during the liposuction and can return to daily life once the surgery is completed.

The problem is, however, that for many people who have liposuction, that fat can come back. If your thighs had liposuction, the fat could return to your belly. If your abdomen was where you had the liposuction, you may find the fat entering into your arms or your thighs twelve months later. Why? Is it because we have bad habits that we can’t overcome, or we relax after liposuction and eat more? That may have something to do with it, but it’s more likely that our genes may also be working against us.

Fat seems to be more or less determined to show up again in our body because our bodies are a bit behind the times and still working under the assumption that storing up fat for energy is good for us. Millennia ago, this was true. When food was scarce, fat provided a function as an energy reserve, and those with extra fat survived longer than those who were thinner. The human body has yet to catch up with technological advances and long life spans, or to evolve structure that deals with the dangers of obesity, such as cardiovascular disease or diabetes.

The best thing to do, therefore, if you want to keep the fat off is to be aware that it’s a potential threat and to continue to inculcate the best possible lifestyle you can: eat foods that are good for you and stay active. It may take a conscious effort, but it is possible to keep the fat off even a year after your Fort Lauderdale liposuction; it just may take a little more effort than you imagined.
