If you suffer from self esteem or confidence issues, this can cause you to second guess your own driving ability. If you lack trust in other motorists on the road this may also have resulted in anxiety. Establish a Comfort Zone in Your Vehicle One form of getting over fear of driving is being able to get comfortable in the vehicle. Start out by keeping these journeys short and gradually expand the length of the route until you're able to manage to drive on main roads with more confidence. Seeing a Therapist or Receiving Lessons Taking some driving lessons to help in conquering your fears often can be worthwhile should it come to dealing with lack of knowledge or capability on your end. Getting proper driving lessons should provide you with the support necessary of someone that has an understanding of your fear and can work at helping you pace yourself.
