Is beauty only skin deep, this the age-old question? Beauty should come from the inside out. But now a days everyone is looking for a formula or product to keep them looking beautiful and young. What they don’t realize is that if they took care of their body, they wouldn’t need the fountain of youth. rnIt is true that our bodies are continually aging from the time we are born until we die but it doesn’t mean that you have to feel old while aging. Here are some tips to stay looking beautiful and young throughout your life. Follow these and you can minimize the effects of aging. The first sign of aging is through our skin. That is why it’s important to protect our skin. As we age our skin loses its elasticity, which causes us to get wrinkles. However other things such as too much sun exposure, weight gain, squinting, slouching, and stress can cause wrinkles too. Protect your skin. Although, we love to go in the sun and who doesn’t want the perfect tan? But ultraviolet rays can be harmful to the skin. Overexposure to the sun can age the skin faster by drying it out which causes wrinkles. In addition UV rays can cause skin cancer. So it is important to wear sunscreen or protective clothing and stay in shaded areas. Also stay extremely hydrated and drink plenty of water. Water replenishes the skin and flushes out the toxins. Replace your coffee, tea, or soda with water for more natural looking skin. Hydrated skin looks fresher and younger. Also keep your skin clean. Wash your face daily with a warm soft washcloth. Skin should be soft so no scrubbing is required. You’ve heard about worry lines; well it’s not a myth. Stress, anxiety and fear can cause increased aging signs such as wrinkles. So instead of stressing out turn that frown upside down. Take a moment to smile and see how it can change your attitude completely. Stress can make a person sick where as happiness leads to better health. If your days are stressful, try to take some time out for yourself. Meditation is the perfect way to relieve the mind and body of a stressful day. Laughter is a good way to decrease stress. Additionally laughter keeps us young and healthy. Remember a smile is more beautiful to look at than a frown. Part of the “image” of beauty is body image. Maintaining a proper body weight is not only good for overall health, it is good for the skin. Weight gain or weight loss causes the skin to expand and sag. This causes unwanted wrinkles. Maintaining your weight includes a proper diet and physical exercise. The rule of thumb is to burn more calories than you consume. Thirty minutes of physical activity a day is recommended to maintain proper body weight. Additionally eating the proper foods such as fruits and vegetables is a good way to reduce calories and stay healthy. Lastly, act young to promote your beauty. Intimacy is needed to keep a couple’s youthful outlook on life. Men and women used to give up on sex after 50. Because we are living longer, people realize they don’t have to give up the things they did when they were younger. And I’m not just talking about sex. Do something that promotes your inner youth and your outer beauty, plus it will make you feel good.
