“We Meditate to Escape the Ongoing Cycle”

The brain reacts automatically to stimuli from past experiences. Our brain keeps us trapped in a cycle of never ending disappointments, because we keep trying to recapture moments of pleasure. From the very second we are born to the final breath we take we try to recapture moments of pleasure. Thus we become trapped by our brain and ego into thinking that pleasure is the only important aspect of being alive.

But when we meditate we disassociate from the electronic chatter and find the calming spirit of God, the Universe, and the One and Only.

Thus meditation allows us to escape the unending seeking of pleasure and find something even more important—PEACE.

Imagine having loud rock music being played 24-7… after awhile we’d start to go crazy and want to escape. That need to escape would drive us to look for anything that will fill the void and bring us relief from the never ending loud music.

Even during sleep our brain chatter continues… we toss, we turn, and get up multiple times to try to remove the chatter but nothing works. Nothing works because we’ve been conditioned to live with the chatter… and if we don’t have the chatter we miss it. And thus we go looking for more endless chatter.
Until one day we decide to learn to meditate. It’s difficult, we are not used to sitting in silence, and it disturbs us at first. And we think we can’t meditate for long because our mind wants to find more chatter.

But sooner or later with will power, constant diligence, and the power to stick to what we are doing… we overcome and finally stay in silence for long periods of time.

Go inward and find what you really want!
