Web design begins with planning and analysis. During these two steps, the point and purpose of the website are determined through certain factors such as context, function, audience, compatibility, and restrictions. These factors are the guidelines from which the back and front end of the website are made. The web design depends primarily on the context or the nature of the website to be designed. What will the website be about? Would it need to be interactive or just static for people to read information off on? From this stems the purpose—what’s the website for? Is it for fact presentation? Is it for registration into an organization or a competition? Or is it for viewing an artist’s portfolio, a filmmaker’s demo reel, or a web design company’s samples? The purpose then is the basis of the website’s functionalities. The functionalities are the features that a user encounters while navigating through the website. This could be in the form of videos or plain pages containing information. There could also be a comment box for the user’s observations, suggestions and opinions. Depending on its purpose, a website may also have a digital forum board or an upload function. A typical social network web design would have features that allow its audience to interact with each other, share information, post comments and other types of content. The presence of functionalities depends on how the site visitors use them. As more people stumble upon and use the website, the more interesting features should be in place. Most websites today, thanks to Web 2.0, are built with social network web design functionalities. This means that in most websites, users can interact with the owners and other site users. At the very least, they can simply share information, like in social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. This latter function seems to be enough, though, since both sites have experienced a recent boom in popularity, making them primary options for marketing and promotion purposes. If you wish to improve the amount of traffic that your website is currently receiving, experts suggest using social network web design functionalities to strengthen your site’s viewership, as well as attract new clients and customers to your business.
