Internet is a network of the work connected together by peers, nodes and different small networks that are interconnected with each other. It’s a series of networks connected together from different countries. People can work on internet, they can feel its presence but they cannot see what it looks like?
Recently a mobile application company Peer 1 developed an application by the company’s name that shows what internet looks like in three different forms.
In first form the main ISP (internet service providers) are pointed at the top. Here, being on top depicts the worth of the network. Then in second layer local networks are added with red color. The different colors are used to differentiate both the ISPs.
On completion of map it was seen that the map of internet looks much more like a ‘candy floss’ or a flower of cotton. Because the nodes and networks are interconnected in a way that makes them look like curled and tangles floss.
Websites and search engines as well as networks are all shown in the shape of a pyramid. That means, first networks and servers are shown with big yellow dot. Than small networks like university network or any company network, they can be seen in blue dots in the application. On third comes the normal websites that gain little traffic as compared to big giants.
You can even click and check information of a website in the nodes formation map. This also provides a real world scenario to users in actual. That means, they can see where a website like Facebook and Google operates from?
Moreover, in the second formation of internet Peer 1 has made another map of Internet from 1994. The history is put there with the basic websites that were available there at that time to date. And new websites that are being made on a regular basis are also indexed there.
Additionally Peer 1 also predicts the shape of internet in 2020. It tells by way of that graphical formation how much of the space will be taken by internet in 2020 and how many places will be using their own ISP’s and nodes.
Third interesting feature of Peer 1 website is the use of ‘Tracer route’ technology. This allows the users to trace a file that they had sent somewhere and check in real from how many nodes that file passes.
Users with the help of ‘Tracer route technology’ can actually see how their files pass through the network and is received on the other hand.
