Your wedding dress preparation is one of the most intense decisions you will make & the most important. There is no need to get over whelmed & stressed. Just keep these simple tips in mind when making the wedding dress investment.

* Alternations are normal. Most brides need at least some.

* Make sure to have your dress at least 4 months in advance of your wedding day to allow yourself enough time for adjustments to be made if needed.

* Ask what the policies are at the bridal store. Don’t forget to ask specifics of what is included in the purchase.

* Make sure to use a professional tailor or seamstress. Family & friends may offer help. But having a professional on the most important day of your life is advised.

* Be sure that the professionals steam & press your gown so it looks perfect for the big day.

* It’s a good idea to bring the shoes & garments you will be wearing for the wedding day to your fittings. This will give you the exact amount of adjustments that need to be done.

* It wouldn’t be a bad idea to bring someone you trust to the final fitting. This way if you forget something they tell you the other person can help remember everything. We all know the hustle & bustle brides to be go through before the wedding day.

* When shopping for your veil remember that this is an extension of you. This should compliment you not take away from your beauty. Your tailor can help you select a veil that flatters you or possibly custom make a veil that fits you perfectly.

* Look great. But be comfortable. You want to be able to enjoy the dancing with your husband & family. Posing for your pictures shouldn’t be stressful. So keep this in mind when finalizing your wedding dress.

* There is nothing wrong with working on a budget. Don’t we all want to save a dollar? Remember that the most expensive kind of dress is not necessarily the best kind.
