A great concoction to try is the 1 gallon of distilled vinegar, 2 cups of table salt, and a tablespoon of dish soap. There are other natural substances that can be used like boiled egg water, lemon juice, citrus oil and clove oil. Herbicides, Safety and Tips The best herbicides to use are those that contain glyphosphate, this is what keeps the weeds and certain types of grass from coming back; it kills it at the root. These products can be found at any local do it yourself store or garden center. They can also give you any advice you may need to complete your grass and weed killing project. After deciding whether to go natural or get a herbicide it is essential that the user follow the manufactures instructions on how to use the product. Always wear rubber gloves, attempt small area at first to test the products strength, keep all products away from children and pets, and be cautious so as not to contaminate ponds and waterways. The best way to avoid all of this is to mow the lawn on a regular basis, plant congluten in prominent areas, hoe the garden and hand weed as often as possible, and use mulch this helps to substantially decrease the amount of weeds that will produce in the ground. Conclusion Maintaining and vigilantly taking care of a garden and lawn system will help to reduce the presence of weeds and grass that kill other plants. A weed and grass killer can be all natural or it can be a chemical herbicide. In either case which ever one is used it should be used with caution and sparingly. These types of killer plants are inevitable on a small scale but with care and observation it can be halted and in some cases eradicated.
