There are countless diet pills out in the market nowadays. Sad to say, there are those that do not work while there are also others that are quite effective in burning body fats. The authentic diet pills do work in burning calories, suppressing the appetite and increasing energy level. For a person to know which of the weight loss drugs work, he must check if they are approved by the FDA and he must also research on the effects of the ingredients the diet pills contain. He must also ask his doctor about the drug. Weight loss drugs have a number of benefits. For the benefits to manifest, it is also important that the user live a healthy lifestyle such as eating healthy food and regularly working out. Diet pills are most effective with a commitment to healthy living. This means a person should refrain from eating food with saturated fat, preservatives, and too much sugar and oil, and instead eat fruits, vegetables, lean meat, fish and other healthier choices. Diet pills that are sold with prescription will aid people who want to lose weight. Phentermine is a diet pill that suppresses the appetite. Appetite suppressants are helpful as they can limit one’s intake of food. The outcome would be lesser calories taken each day. Ephedra is also a drug that reduces appetite but it also has dangerous side effects such as stroke, heart attack and even death. There are fat-blockers that are sold over the counter and one of them is Apidexin. It is effective in managing weight as it blocks fats from being absorbed by the body. The fats that are not digested will be released through defecation. Because fats are not absorbed and digested, one can lose so much of it, especially if it is accompanied by a low-fat diet. In larger doses can cause irritation and inflammation of the digestive system. Others noted side effects of this drug are lower or raise the blood pressure of people therefore those with hypertension should not take it Another prescription medicine is Meridia which controls hunger pangs by telling the brain that it is full. This is ideal for those people who cannot seem to stop eating and those who are constantly hungry. Young people with no heart condition can take this drug for weight loss. The known side effects though are sleeplessness, constipation and dry mouth. It should not be taken by people suffering from hypertension and heart ailments. There are many weight loss supplements that are sold over the counter or through the internet. These are entirely different from weight loss medications as these usually contain herbs to help lose weight. They also have no therapeutic claim. Although these diet supplements maintain that they help people lose weight, there is still no realistic scientific proof that they are safe and effective. Many have lost weight but this may also be because of the diet and exercise that accompany the intake of the supplements. Before taking diet pills, it is still best to consult a doctor and ask for the most effective, helpful and risk-free of them all.
