A common problem with weight loss for many people is staying with the program. In the beginning, it is easy to stick to your goals. After a while, your motivation wanes, and you cannot push through in your workouts like you used to be able to do. However, some people manage to keep their motivation. People do succeed in losing weight and keep it off for years. How is it accomplished? The first thing you need to do when embarking on a weight loss plan is to decide on your goals. What do you want out of your weight loss program? Do you want to run a marathon, or maybe some charity running events? How much weight do you want to lose? Is your goal just to be healthier? Keeping a weekly record of your weight loss is necessary for success. A great way to keep up with your goals is to keep notes and lists. To track your progress, do a weekly check of your body weight. Think about writing down everything that you consume in a day. Keeping track of what you are eating will help you decide what is working and what is not working and Once you write down your food intake. you can begin to review what is working and what isn't, evaluate eating patterns and isolate issues you may be having. Letting yourself get to the point where you are unbearably hungry is a bad thing! It is hard to control what you are eating when you are starving. Decide what you will eat ahead of time, and keep sensible snack foods on hand at all times. Whenever you can, you should take your lunch with you from home. By doing this, you will end up saving money and eating a healthier diet. To lose weight, you need to pay attention to not only your diet but also the amount of exercise you get. Pick an activity you love and include it as part of your exercise routine. Some activities that you may want to try include joining a dance class or sports team, or going for a walk, run or swim with a friend. Use your imagination, and you will quickly discover ways to incorporate regular workouts into your weight loss plan. Few people follow this advice. Throw away all the unhealthy snacks and junk food from your home! You will not be able to reach for junk food when you crave it if you do not store any in your house. Use healthy alternatives like fresh fruit and vegetables. Remember, if you do not have the choice to eat unhealthy foods then you cannot eat them. Do you have a friend that wants to lose weight too? If so, set up goals together and be there to encourage each other when the other is lacking in motivation. Your friends can help you when you feel like you have hit rock bottom and just can't go any further. Do not be afraid to ask for emotional support from others. You will need it to help keep you on track and reach your weight loss goals.
