A common goal for many, especially after over indulging during the holidays, is to lose weight. In fact, it is probably the number one New Year’s Resolution made, as one's health is very closely tied with one's weight. Being overweight also has a negative effect on the aging process. Now, while we can't do much about getting older, we can definitely help to diminish the aging process and losing a few extra pounds is as good a start as any. Diet is of course the first key to weight loss. Our society is now full of a plethora of unhealthy fast foods loaded with fat, sugar and salt. If one is serious about weight loss, these need to be the first to go. Switching to a diet high in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory drugs is a must. Try including more fruits, vegetables and cold water fish into your diet and reap the age reversing benefits of these foods. Proper water consumption should also be included in weight loss. Water has no magical properties on its own for weight loss, but it has zero calories and is important for the proper functioning of the body. It can also placate one's craving for food as it will fill you up and keep your mouth occupied. It is also a healthier option than zero calorie drinks that are full of chemicals and often caffeine. Exercise must also be taken into consideration. There is no better way than exercise to burn all those excess calories. We live in an increasingly sedentary society. It is only in the past few decades that so many of us have become desk bound. It is very important if you do work in an office to make sure that your daily exercise requirements are met. If you sit at home, sit on the way to work and sit at work, how is your body ever going to burn off those excess calories? Beside the aforementioned methods of weight loss, there are still other tools at your disposal. A slimming detox body wrap is a safe and non-invasive way to take inches off your waist.
