What are Air Swimmers – Christmas Gift ideas for 2011

Every year it seems that there is a hot new craze for a toy or gadget during Christmas time. A few years back it was the tickle me elmo, everyone remembers the furbies, and who could forget puppy surprise. It is nice to know what the big toy craze will be in advance so you don't have to fight other crazed mothers in the isle to get the last toy on the shelf. One toy that I think will be very popular this year is the Air swimmer. What is an Air Swimmer? The Air swimmers are a set of inflatable baloons in the shape of a fish. There are two models available, the clown fish, and the shark. Now this may not seem like a really cool gift idea, “so what there is an inflatable fish shaped baloon”, but I have not gotten to the good part yet. The best thing about the Air swimmers is that they can swim! You might think, how does a baloon swim in the water, well it doesnt. The Air swimmers do just that, they swim in the air! How the Air Swimmers Work Each giant inflatable fish has a light weight tail attached to it which is powered by a very light device attached to the belly. The device that is attached to the belly is then controled by a person via remote control. The steering is very simple, you can point the nose up or down using the up and down button, and you can make it swim to the left or the right using the swim motion. To make it swim you need to wiggle the control stick back and forth. If you want to make it swim to the right you need to wiggle the stick more to the right, and the same thing for making the air swimmer swim to the left. How much do they cost Right now the retail price is $39.99 this is not a bad price for a toy that will be very popular this year. I know that the toy will be popular because I was at the toy show when it was debuted. There was constantly a group of kids and adults circling the display table and watching in awe as the inflatable shark swam through the air. Which model is right for me? There are two models available, one is the shark and the other is a clown fish. I think that the clown fish would be perfect for any child who enjoys the movie finding nemo. The clown fish is very cute and I am sure a child would love to play with it. If you have an older child I would recommend the shark, it would be great to have both of them because then the children could pretend as if the shark was hunting the clown fish.
