Everyone knows that brushing their teeth is not something that can be avoided and by which you can get the Smile You Always Deserved . For most people, keeping up with their brushing and flossing on a daily basis will allow for them to have a beautiful smile that looks great in their personal life or when uploading photos to social media. More importantly, your dentist will tell you that keeping up with oral hygiene is important so that you can have a life time with limited issues inside your mouth. However, what you may not realize is that you could be experiencing problems with your oral health that are telling signs of other issues with your overall health. Here are some things that you should look out for, as well as what the signs could mean in the long run. Tooth Deterioration And Decay Even though tooth decay is something that all dentists will work their hardest to help you avoid, the truth of the matter is that it’s a common problem that many people have to deal with. In order to combat the issues of tooth decay, it’s best that you use fluoride treated products and visit your dentist for routine care as often as possible. However, if you are doing all of these things and still noticing that your teeth are getting week or fragile, then more serious problems may be present. rnCalcium and vitamin Dare both incredibly important for helping to build strong bones and teeth. However, if you notice that your teeth are not nearly as strong as they should be, no matter how much you clean them, then it could be because you have a deficiency of either calcium or vitamin D. What’s equally as concerning about this is that lacking calcium and vitamin D won’t just affect your teeth, but it could also lead to issues with osteoporosis or bone loss. As you get older your bones will naturally start to weaken, which is why it’s important that you do as much as you can to keep them, as well as your teeth, as strong as possible. Dehydration and General Dry Mouth Throughout the day you may notice that your mouth is dry and you are lacking proper saliva production. And while this isn’t the most uncommon of symptoms, excessive dehydration or dry mouth is something that you should worry about. The most concerning thing is what is known as Sjorgen’s syndrome. Sjorgen’s syndrome will cause dry mouth, but can also wreak havoc on your internal organs as well. If you find yourself sipping on water constantly, but you notice that you still have dry mouth, then it could be time to see a medical professional. They’ll be able to determine if you are at risk of Sjorgen’s syndrome and what you can do to fix it. Gum Disease Gum disease, otherwise known as periodontal disease, is something that is going to be a major issue if you don’t have it taken care of. The truth is that one in every three adults have gum disease, but this doesn‘t mean that it’s something that should be left unattended to. When left unattended to, gum disease can cause bacteria build up inside of the mouth. The more that this takes over in the mouth, the greater of a risk there is for oral cancer and other bodily issues. Keep in mind that oral cancer is one of the most concerning and deadly diseases out there, with a survival rate of less than 50% for those who don’t have it seen to quickly. Having great oral health is obviously important for achieving that beautiful smile that you desire. However, keeping up with your oral health is equally as important for internal health reasons as well. If you notice that you are having any of the issues mentioned here, be sure that you see your dentist or medical professional as soon as possible to avoid further complications.
