What Do You (Nurture) Feed?

What beliefs and thoughts do you nurture daily? Do your beliefs and thoughts support or sabotage you? Are you aware of any conflict within?
Our beliefs (conscious & subconscious) are reflected by the emotions (energy in motion) we experience in our lives. When we experience a life that is less than desired we must turn within to discover what beliefs or thoughts we are nourishing on a daily basis.
There is an old Cherokee tale of two wolves which illustrates this beautifully:
One evening an old Cherokee Indian told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, ‘My son, the battle is between two ‘wolves’ inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.’
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: ‘Which wolf wins?’
The old Cherokee simply replied, ‘The one you feed.’
Are you aware of the beliefs and thoughts you feed? Do you feel overwhelmed? Do you feel like you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders? Are you emotionally overloaded by others’ needs? Is your brain & heart in conflict? What beliefs are you nourishing? If your energy (emotion) is so heavy & dense with erroneous beliefs & sabotaging thoughts there will be no room for growth. If there is conflict between your heart & mind, growth will be negatively impacted. Heart/brain coherence is vitally important in establishing a desirable life. When there is incongruence between your heart and brain, it is difficult if not impossible to create your heart’s desire. When we release the weight of conflict and any energetic contagions within, we open a space for new healthy beliefs and energy, which we can nurture and allow to grow into the heart’s desire.
Our thoughts are energetically charged. Therefore, to promote healing & consciously co-create a desirable life, one must re-establish communication between the conscious mind & the subconscious mind to correct these dysfunctional (charges) patterns. Thus, increase awareness of the beliefs and thoughts we nourish on a daily basis. This is much like pressing a reset button, or rewiring a circuit, to create a new (functional) energy flow between the conscious & subconscious mind; thus co-create the life desired.
As a psychotherapist, I have found that the creation of an energetic bridge between the conscious & the subconscious mind is necessary for clients to become aware of their beliefs or thoughts. Over time self-defeating & self-sabotaging patterns or beliefs can create energetic blocks, or internal conflicts, which can often lead to illness and/or dis-ease. As humans we store our emotions and memories on an energetic level. Often these are inaccessible to our conscious minds, and can consist of dysfunctional beliefs and traumatic memories from past experiences. This is why for some people affirmations & “talk” therapy can only go so far before hitting an “energetic block.” Thus, no matter how motivated an individual may be, an impasse (block) occurs.
I use an integrative approach to assist others in accessing the beliefs and thoughts that sabotage healing, as well as personal growth. When the burden of erroneous beliefs and dense energy are removed natural healing and growth can resume. Did you know that the heart’s electromagnetic energy is 50 times stronger than the brain’s? Therefore, when we hear others say something like “I know it, I just don’t feel it” we can try and convince them with our logic all day, but until there is coherence between the heart and the brain the shift within cannot occur. For example, when the heart is heavy with the emotion of disappointment and/or grief there is no room for the experience of the light (love) within. By using methods such as hypnotherapy, guided imagery/mediation and energy psychology one can access and release this information where it actually resides, within the body and the mind.
I recently developed a guided meditatio
CD “Release & Transform Burden: a meditation to awaken the healing light within” after working with several individuals who were overwhelmed by others’ needs. As caregivers for terminally ill patients, they were carrying the weight of the world on there shoulders and within their hearts. While this did not change the facts, the way in which they experienced this situation was improved. When the beliefs supported by all the “shoulds” were released within mind, body and soul, room was created to allow for hope in all its forms. Nurturing this energy became the focus.
There is ample evidence indicating the importance of this method of somatic (physical) experience for accessing & healing deep trauma, as well as reversing erroneous beliefs at an energetic level. This principle operates at the cellular level of the body, which is where memories & emotions are actually stored, rather than just within the brain. In order to retrieve & reframe dysfunctional imprints at this level, one must follow the same path back to the state in which the dysfunction occurred and where it is held within. In the popular film “What the bleep…” Candace Pert & others briefly describe this method of storing information at a cellular level, as well as the importance of reframing information for lasting change.
When we look deeply at an energetic level, we look into the depth of our souls; it is here that healing occurs & resonates throughout our entire energetic system. It is this healing, when nourished daily, that can manifest your heart’s desire, as well as multiple the benefits for the entire world. Let us nourish this light within, and release the burden of fear to open this space for hope and love to return once again.
