To know ‘who am I?’, the knowledge of the Self! Only when we know really who am I, based on that can we envision the right purpose and true meaning in life. Until we do not understand ‘who am I’, the purpose and meaning of life remains restricted to doing something, be it something good, great or best that we do or it could be even bad, worse or worst that we may do. But we do not recognize our own Self. The way people see us, we too see and identify ourselves in that form. And on the other hand, we see others too the way they are seen and identified by the world. Only when Gnani (the Enlightened One) gives us the awareness of Self (really who am I), one fits into one’s real Self. Thereafter, You (the Soul) remain in your own nature and the worldly self (John – please insert your name here) stays in its nature. They are both separate and therefore they function separately. Gnani Purush has many kinds of special spiritual energies and He is a great wonder. That’s why this becomes possible!!! Today, we have the vision of, ‘I am John (please insert your name here).’ Our vision of ‘I am John’ can never change to the vision of the real Self, ‘I am the Pure Soul’ until and unless Gnani Purush does it for us. Gnani Purush makes the separation: ‘This is the vision of the real Self and that is the vision of the relative (worldly) self’. One can never make this change in vision himself. By grace of living Gnani, we get the real knowledge that ‘John is separate and I am a pure Soul’. With this, the awareness of the pure Soul starts. The Soul was, is and has always remained pure! But due to wrong belief, we are not able to get the experience of Pure Soul, our real Self. Here (where there is the Living Gnani), the wrong belief gets fractured and you get the right belief. When Gnani’s grace is bestowed upon us, our wrong beliefs regarding ‘I’ and ‘my’ begin to leave. Otherwise, these beliefs are such which will not go even over millions of lifetimes! Because in trying to get rid of one wrong belief, we end up sowing seeds for four more wrong beliefs. Here, we get the knowledge of who am I, who is the doer, and how to solve the problems in our life with equanimity. This knowledge helps us remain in the right belief, it helps us live with the right understanding, and leads us to more and more enhanced experience of the Soul which is an abode of eternal bliss. We find our purpose in life when we happen to meet Gnani, the Enlightened One, and in following his words, we find the true meaning in life because this is what leads to the experience of the Soul, our real Self, which we were totally ignorant of. The experience of the Soul means the destruction of the experience of, “I am the body (John – please insert your name here).” When the experience of “I am this body” goes, new karma cease to bind you. What more could you want? We can understand what ‘John’ was previously and what he is now. That difference is due to what? It is due to the experience of the Soul. Previously, there was the experience of, ‘I am this body’, and now there is the experience of the Soul. While prior to meeting the Gnani, we were deeply entrenched in the worldly life, now after meeting the Gnani, we turn towards the path of liberation. There is no meaning in life without a goal. One earns money, enjoys his meals and worries the whole daylong. How can that be the goal of a life? The ultimate goal of human life is liberation (moksha). You do want liberation, don’t you? For how long do you want to keep on wandering aimlessly? You have done only this for infinite lives. You have not left any place to wander. Why did you have to suffer such endless wanderings? This is because you have not known your true identity; you have not known the answer to “Who Am I?” Should you not know your real Self? Despite the extensive wanderings of countless lives, you do not even know who you really are. Is making money your only goal in life? Should you not be making some effort towards your liberation (moksha)? A human being can indeed become God (Parmatma, the Absolute Soul). To attain one’s own ‘Absolute Self’ is the final goal of a human being. Once you have the conviction about Gnani, you will certainly have the conviction of the Self. After you attain the conviction of the Self, after you attain the awareness of the real Self, you cease to be the doer and (consequently) the sufferer in the worldly life. The worldly activities continue on their own. Thus, the most critical thing in life is to know the path of liberation. And for that, we need the One who can give us this path. Gnani, the Enlightened One alone can get us on this road! So come, let’s go to Gnani and realize our ultimate purpose and meaning in life!!!
