At the front door of many homes you’ll find a mat that says “welcome”. Whether or not you have such a mat, you are always welcoming something into your home, your life and your mind. One definition for the word welcome is “one who comes with the permission of another.” rnBut sometimes what shows up in our lives is not what we want, or planned for; it’s not really welcome.rnSo how or why is it, you might ask, that things I do not want, show up, they certainly were not welcome. In many societies, an open door is a sign of welcome. rnIf the door to your mind is open to entertaining opinions that you may not agree with, such as in conversations, news reports or newspaper articles, you are welcoming them. You welcome situations based on the way you think about things and what you believe about yourself, the world and others. Even if you keep the front door closed (so to speak) but you watch tv programs, engage in conversations, or harbor beliefs, ideas, habits or actions that are not in alignment with who you are or what you want for your life, you are still welcoming that energy into your home. This also applies to people in your life. Your acquaintances, friends or family that you spend time with should be in harmony with the direction you really want your life to go in. If they are not, that energy will slow you down, distract you and perhaps even knock you completely off the path you want to be on.rnThis may be tough to hear, but you may want to consider limiting or even eliminating some of these connections.rnYour conversations, beliefs, feelings, ideas, thoughts and self-talk are all affirmations. An affirmation is another way of saying “yes”. So whatever you are welcoming or entertaining is an affirmation about your life. It is how you say to life (the Universe, God etc.) “this is what I want for my life, please deliver it to me”. Here’s how you can get your ship going in the direction of your dreams and desires. • Spend the next seven days (yes, start today), paying close attention to your beliefs, feelings, actions (or lack of actions) ideas, opinions, conversations and self-talk. Your well-being, happiness and success depend on these things being positive and uplifting; are they working for or against you? Where you see that these things are not harmonious with what you desire, start letting them go. • Create a specific vision for your life and write it down. With your vision in mind, create written and spoken affirmations that will remind you and keep you focused on that vision. (We teach you how to write and speak your affirmations most effectively. Find out more on our website at www.thescienceofaffirmations.com)rnYour affirmations are also your beliefs, feelings, actions, ideas, opinions, habits, conversations and self-talk so pay attention that these support your vision as well. • Fill your life and time by reading, going to workshops, hanging around positive people and doing whatever you can to stay uplifted and inspired. We welcome people, we welcome ideas, we welcome feelings. rnWe welcome events, circumstances and situations.rnWe welcome beliefs, actions and thoughts. You have the power to choose what is welcome in your life. rnWhile you are working on creating the life of your dreams – make sure that your welcome mat is written only in the language that is understood by what you really want in your life. Only welcome who and what will help you craft the life you desire and deserve. Copyright 2012 - Club Success Publications

I have a new cell phone. I didn’t want a new cell phone; I was perfectly happy with my 2020 cell phone, but it wasn’t happy with me. Its connector charging port was ailing. Failing, actually, the service tech told me. And besides, it was an old phone, what did I expect? Old? This to a woman who is more than content, read “thrilled,” to wear outdated fashions just because she likes them. And would willingly keep computers way past their supposed “shelf life.” Sigh. OK, fine,
