What Failing Teaches You

Paulo Coelho once wrote, “…before a dream is realized, the Soul of the World test everything that was learned along the way. It does this not because it is evil, but so that we can, in addition to realizing our dreams, master the lessons we’ve learned as we’ve moved toward that dream. It’s the point at which most people give up. It’s the point at which, as we say in the language of the desert, one dies of thirst just when the palm trees have appeared on the horizon.”

Have you ever experience those times when for some reason everything just seems so messed up? As if bad things happen one after the other? There are days when it is just like that. The most unfortunate part of all is that it always seems to happen when you are in the middle of being so busy because there is a particular goal that you have to accomplished. And once the bad turn of events start, there seems to be no way of stopping it. It's just like those bad days when you are out luck and you cry out in frustration, wondering aloud if the day could possible get any worse. All of sudden, it does. It is like nature's way of proving you wrong; as if taking your question which you meant to be rhetorical as a challenge. So yeah, from a bad day to worse.

When there is something that we want to get, a dream perhaps, things like these seem to happen, doesn't it? We decide to take action in order to attain that dream ours and then you stumble upon trials and challenge one after the other making us rethink our decisions. There will be times when we think we can cope no more and we desperately want to give up. There will be times when we feel like abandoning our dreams all together. Let me tell you though, good things does not always come in good packages. No successful man had ever made it without having to overcome certain obstacles. There is only just a thin line that distinguishes those who tried and became successful as against those who tried and gave up.

Like virtually everyone in this world, I have my own set of dreams that I want to accomplish. Of the many dreams, there is one that I have started to act on. I want to be successful in the field of Search Engine Optimization. So far, I have encountered several situations when I want to give up everything and rest. But my drive to succeed is way stronger that I first thought it was. There is another thing that motivates me. I have an inspiration you see, a role model that I look up to. It is the story of Andreas Roell. I can definitely say that I am not giving up anytime soon.

Andreas Roell is actually the co-founder, CEO and President of Geary Group.
