Seeking admission for children is a huge task in itself. Parents not only tell about the schools and their brand value but also about the syllabus that will work best for their children. A few years ago, they chose state syllabus if they did not think they were going to move cities and national syllabus if they were in a transferable job.

For the remaining parents for whom this option is not easy by the nature of their jobs, there is a difficult time between the two national courses – CBSE or Central Board of Secondary Education and ICSE or Indian Certificate of Secondary Education.

Differences betwee
CBSE & ICSE

Testing students: While these were the basic differences between the two boards, there is also a difference in how they test students. CBSE exams are more application-based, while the ICSE exam tests true knowledge, understanding and application.

Difficult course in ICSE: The syllabus for CBSE is considered intensive while ICSE is more comprehensive. The CBSE system of teaching has more objective type questions that help students prepare themselves for the national level competitive examinations. On the other hand, projects are an integral part of the curriculum under the ICSE board, which helps build a student's analytical skills.

National level exams based on CBSE: Competitive entrance exams like IIT-JEE, NEET (AIPMT) and JEE Main are based on CBSE syllabus, which is another reason for parents to prioritize CBSE over ICSE. Anybody wants to write to children of these exams.

Emphasis on English in ICSE: Teachers feel that there is a clear emphasis on English and its literature in ICSE syllabus. The way of English grammar is taught under the ICSE syllabus is very systematic. On the other hand, in CBSE school in mp(http://gyanganga.ac.in), English is taught in a more functional way and it caters to the needs of all types of students irrespective of their geographical location.

Easy to shift from ICSE to CBSE: While ICSE students find it comparatively easier to shift to CBSE at higher levels, the vice-versa is not as easy for the students as the ICSE syllabus is quite heavy.
ICSE students recently completed their 6th-grade exam, they completed 13 subjects - English, History Civics, Environmental Science, Geography, Mathematics, Hindi, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Kannada and General Knowledge took the final exam. On the other hand, a CBSE student of Kendriya Vidyalaya who completed his 7th-grade exam wrote a total of six papers - English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Science, Social Studies and Mathematics.

Board is secondary

While the curriculum is important for children to hone their skills and get the right education, how important is the school and its level of interest is really important for teaching children. Education certainly does not depend on boards. Choosing a board for children still cannot do away with some parents and requires that they make informed decisions about the same.
