When I started my diet, I had 100 pounds to lose and because the journey seemed so overwhelming, I had to completely remove the thought of my end goal from my mind and simply focus on the week to week progress. When I started, I tried not to set predetermined objectives, but to just stay focused on one thing.... STAY ON THE DIET NO MATTER WHAT. I knew that if I did this, it was physically impossible for my body not to lose weight. While luck would have it, the weight came off quickly, but I never expected it and ONLY stayed focused on sticking with the program. In fact, whenever I found the diet hard, I would say the following thing.... "If I don't succeed this time, when will I be successful?" I know this is an all or nothing approach, but I felt that this was the approach that I needed to take to be successful. I had no excuse not to succeed and ultimately the only person that could stop me from being successful was me. So, for anyone on a program or thinking about starting, I would ask the same question... What is going to stop you from being successful? While on the liquid diet, I've had all the excuses..."I'm sick and I need more nourishment". Or, "I'm traveling and I can't take along my shakes." Or. "The people at my business lunches and dinners won't understand." Or, "It would be rude not to eat." I've been in every imaginable position on this diet and ultimately I found that the only person that could stop me from succeeding was me. Pardon my ramblings, but this is the attitude that I think it takes to be successful. Don't treat your diet as another attempt at losing the weight; treat it as the final solution!!! No matter how hard it gets, nothing can stop you from your goal. Take on a new attitude today towards your diet and keep it going!!
