Scientists, religious leaders and spiritual leaders of many religions preach to people to learn to meditate. Because consciously or unconsciously people know that thoughts are the most important factor to act, they try to control thought patterns and do only good actions. By employing good actions, one can achieve material and spiritual enhancement. Thought is the greatest. If thoughts are bad, one gets ill physically as well as mentally. This fact is proven with every passing minute by innumerable evil things and destruction that people do within a day. Therefore, people should learn to meditate with or without teachers to lead their lives in the right path towards spiritual attainment. In summary, meditation is to concentrate with the mind and control thought patterns so as to abolish the evil thoughts thereby gaining spiritual growth. Through meditation one can gain many physical, psychological and spiritual benefits. One does not have to meditate the whole the time but it is enough to meditate for a while for about 10-15 minutes for a day. Following a meditation course under a known guru or a teacher, beginners can learn to mediate. Many online meditation courses are also available now which provide lessons to people who need to meditate while being at home.
